How to Level Up Your Brand and Marketing

Unique Polymer Systems (UPS) has been an international supplier of polymer composites and protective coatings since 1992. They came to Design in the Shires for a complete website rebuild, SEO optimisation, and the creation of printed assets… and we delivered! So much so that a few months later, their 3 partner sites also came to us for their marketing needs.
Since we began working together in 2024, we have collaborated on over 70 webpages, a range of brochures, new logos and seo optimisations, spanning 4 brands: Unique Polymer Systems, UPS Europe BV, Environmental Emissions Control and Pipewrap, with a fifth location joining the roster very soon.

The Challenge
UPS approached us with an existing e-commerce site and a larger CMS site containing only information about their product range. This system was leading to a confusing user journey and missed revenue as a result. Additionally, the old site and logo had not undergone maintenance in some time and felt in need of modernisation to match the nature of UPS’s large-scale operations.
As well as design, there were areas for improvement in SEO ranking and social media presence, with these being underutilised in the business during this period. In 2023, UPS were hovering around 40th, in terms of average organic search results, meaning they were basically invisible to their potential customers.
The Strategy
The proposed strategy was to create a robust, modern set of design assets to capture a user's attention immediately and convey the worldwide scale of UPS’s company model. The goal was to create a set of modular design assets that can flow seamlessly between all their marketing channels and create a unified aesthetic story.
On top of that, the continuous plan was to utilise all organic pathways to put UPS in front of their target audience (SEO ranking and social media presence). To ensure focus is being kept on the areas with the best traffic, we conduct thorough keyword research to target the highest volume of quality leads and direct them to the relevant UPS site.

The Results
Website
All four sites were rebuilt from the ground up, with the highest of current industry standards in mind. Our design team worked hand in hand with UPS to create a website that both satisfied the user experience and reflected the brand and the owners' personality.
The outcome was four stunning, interwoven brands that also stand strong independently.
SEO
For SEO, our numbers speak for themselves!
From 8.7K site views in 2023 to 23k views in 2025, this is a massive 162.5% increase since the beginning of our partnership.
Beyond the raw increase in traffic volume, in the last 18 months (as of March 2026), we have also improved UPS’s average organic search ranking by 28.2 positions, finding themselves on the first page of Google for the first time.
Logo
UPS’s logo was in need of modernisation, bringing it into the 2020’s. While maintaining the original concept, the new imagery honoured where the brand has come from, while preparing it for what is next.
Flyers and Brochures
It is important to keep printed collateral identifiable with the wider brand story, and that’s exactly what we did. These brochures have been printed and used to promote the business offline, while their digital counterparts can be downloaded and shared for those looking to keep UPS in mind even after they exit the site.
Social Media
Spanning Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn and YouTube, it was important to get UPS out there on a range of social media platforms, to increase social awareness of the brand as well as keep them in front of the eyes of customers, so when the time came to purchase, UPS were their first thought.
We keep these channels up to date with the latest company developments and new additions to the product line, ensuring that we notify everyone in the UPS sphere when something exciting is coming up.
