The Project
Overview
DLM Golf specialises in the construction, renovation, and precision shaping of elite golf courses throughout the UK and Europe. The business approached Design in the Shires to move away from a traditional word-of-mouth model and establish a formal, professional identity.
The brief was to create a visual presence that provided instant credibility. DLM Golf needed a brand that would resonate with high-end clients, such as golf clubs and luxury hotels, ensuring the company looked established and professional on an international scale.
What We Delivered
Our work began with the development of a bespoke brand identity. We designed a logo that reflects the precision and craftsmanship involved in golf course shaping, opting for a sophisticated palette of royal and navy blues. This colour choice was deliberate, moving away from bright "sporty" tones in favour of a more corporate, reliable feel that conveys authority.
While we are currently in the development phase of a new, high-performance website, the branding we have delivered has already provided DLM Golf with a consistent visual language. This foundation is now being utilised across their physical business cards and marketing collateral.
Tone & Approach
Our approach was centred on Specialist Precision and Global Credibility. The golf construction industry requires an incredibly high level of trust, so the design needed to be clean, structured, and minimalistic. We avoided generic imagery to ensure the brand felt like a premium contractor service. By establishing a strong typographic style and a deep blue palette, we ensured the brand remains consistent whether it is viewed on a digital screen or a physical document.
The focus was on creating a brand kit that allows DLM Golf to present a unified front to their target audience of club owners and developers, reinforcing their reputation for excellence in a niche market.
The Results
The delivery of the new branding has successfully modernised DLM Golf’s professional image. By providing a clear and authoritative visual identity, we have given the business the tools to compete at a higher level and engage with larger international contracts.
With the branding now live and the website development underway, this project demonstrates how a strategic brand refresh can provide the essential foundation for a business to grow its reputation and reach in a competitive global industry.
